Hello! (lifestyle change not diet)

Hello, my name is Tori and I'm 21 years old. I recently made an account with my fitness pal and have been filling out my food and exercise diary for the past few weeks - but hadn't considered looking for friends to help me on my journey!

My desire is to lose weight but to do it in a healthy fashion. I don't actually have a desired date where I want to be a certain weight (maybe I should?!) but really I want to make a lifestyle change. I'm not on a diet and am not giving up any food as such, I check to make sure I have enough calories for it and if I do then I can have it - although obviously I'd rather have a meal than a chocolate bar so have been saying no to some food I'd be easily tempted to eat.

I'm from the UK and I only know UK sizes but until three years ago I was a happy size 10/12. I'd like to get back to that size but know this will take some time as I want to be able to maintain it. I'm currently a size 16/18. It's not the biggest size in the world (I respect that) but I am not comfortable with my current weight. When I reach my goal of size 12 then I plan on maintaining my healthy lifestyle.

When I was a lot younger (I was just 11!) I became anorexic due to bullying. As a child I struggled with my weight and those few years of barely eating really hurt my body and my family. I don't ever want to do that again and so I'm very conscious of not referring to this as a diet (I've had a couple of mini relapses in the past).

I don't need a lot of friends just people on a similar journey would be great. I can really hate my body at times which is tough but I'm determined to work hard for one I can be proud of. I'm currently doing exams so my exercise is minimal (barely an excuse I know but I genuinely don't have time as I'm a worrier - I'm worrying that I'm writing this instead of the essay I need to read!) but I plan on setting an exercise plan soon so any advice on types of exercises that I can do to start off with would be amazing.

Thanks a lot,

Tori xx
