30 lbs to lose

Hi all. I'm new(ish). I've tried using MyFitnessPal a few times in the past, but never stuck with it for very long. But I'm back because I'm getting married this year and really want to feel great when I start wedding dress shopping.

My goal weight is 120lbs. I hadn't weighed myself in a few months, and recently replaced the battery in my scale and weighed myself to find I am at 150lbs, which was a little depressing since it's about 10lbs higher than what I expected. So instead of 20lbs to lose, it's 30. But I think that's theoretically doable, since we're planning a December wedding. I say theoretically because for all the years that I've *tried* to lose weight, I should have lost it 10 times over. I'm also going to be going to Costa Rica in April (hence my username) and would love to be in decent bikini shape :)

To be honest, I feel discouraged already just because of what feels like years and years of failing to lost weight. I joined the site again shortly before the New Year and feel like I have already slipped more days than I've stuck with it. I know that being to restrictive has led to binges in the past, so I've set my weight loss goal at only 1lb per week, and I intend to eat back at least a portion (30% maybe?) of my exercise calories.

For exercise I am running 3 times per week to prepare for a 10K I want to run in May. Currently I'm running 4-5K and am working my way up. I know I should incorporate some weight lifting or something, but I don't really know where to start with that.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself as I hope to try to join in on the forums a little for some accountability and for support. Hi :)

Also, I've just changed my food diary to public for accountability. What's already in there is kinda embarrassing but shows my not-so-healthy/consistent eating habits. Eating too little and then scarfing down snack after snack.
