    Wow, I was almost exactly in the same boat as you when I started October 2013. I was 25, 5'5 and wanted to lose 40 pounds by February. I think I was down about 30 or so pounds by last February. Those last 10 pounds are always the hardest and the slowest!

    Tips I wish someone had told me when I started:
    -You don't have to exercise to lose weight but you're body will look better at your goal weight if you do some sort of strength training along the way.
    -You don't have to eat "diet" food
    -Eat the food you like in moderation
    -You might not reach your goal by your set date but you will still look awesome!
    -Don't try to lose 2lbs a week just because you want to be done fast
    -1200 calories is just not enough!
    -Work treats (sweets for me) into your week so you don't end up craving them non stop
