I've restarted this sentence about 5 times. Because I'm not sure what I'm looking for exactly. I need people who can help me reach my goals because I'm having a hard time doing it alone. I make a lot of excuses, and need people to (tactfully) call me on my BS. And to help guide me. I want to get more involved in helping myself and helping others. I felt better both physically and mentally when I was exercising regularly, but I can't seem to get into that habit right now.
After I had my daughter I thought that I would get back into healthy eating, and starting to work out again, but it hasn't happened, and at this point I feel like I'm in a rut. Work, eat, sleep, play all day everyday. But it just makes me feel bad that I can't take care of myself, and if I can't take care of myself, how can I take care of her?
Any kind words or words of encouragment would be apprciated.
Thanks.

I totally understand the hustle and bustle of life.. You have to look at exercising as "Me time"!! After you've done everything else for every body else, you deserve some me time !! I am recently getting on my journey as well and I am looking at it this way and its helping !! Try scheduling each necessary activity for the day (this way no one is neglected, even you )!
Hope this helped a little !
Be encouraged !0 -

Thanks for the encouragement! I think you're right. I really need to see exercise as "me time".0 -
When I was younger my mom struggled a lot with her weight. We were really poor, my dad had a job that had him on the road a lot, so she had to take care of 3 kids by herself most of the time. She used to take us for walks, even though we lived on a rural highway, she'd pack all 3 of us up & march down the road despite big milk tankers speeding by us. She blames herself now for my weight gain, thinks that her being overweight when we were kids has effected us as adults, but recently I told her that thinking back to my childhood made me realize that if she could do it with no expendible income, no spousal support with 3 kids while going to college full time what on earth is my excuse? She's an inspiration to me and though she still struggles with the same last 20 lbs, she's maintained a nearly 80 lb weight loss for over 10 years. I've had a lot of reasons about why I can't exercise, but when I really look at my reason I try to be honest with myself now. Is it really valid or am I just making excuses? I'd love to have a buddy on MFP who will help me stay motivated with a good b.s. detector who will call me out on it and will help me be honest with myself.0
