How many daily sugars have you set as your goal?

I have type 2 diabetes and I came to myfitnesspal because I can count carbs. I am uncertain how much to put as my daily sugar goal. It set up with 25 and I've left it. However today I ate 1/4 of a banana in oatmeal at breakfast, an orange with lunch (no other carbs at that meal), and 1/2 a apple for snack and it says I am already over my goal at 28 and I haven't eaten dinner yet. Is 25 too low? What do you all have your sugars set at?

I am such a doofus. I should do a better job of reading first. I think you should ask your doctor about that.0

From what I remember, the ADA recommends eating about 45-60g of carbs per meal and 15-20g per snack. Though I am also diabetic (type 1), I don't try to purposefully limit my sugar. If I am over, it is typically because I had to treat hypoglycemia (mine is set at 70-ish just to account for sugars found in fruits and veggies).0

My husband says the same that I need to set it higher to count for fruits and veggies. Just need to know how high. Right now I'm moving it up to 40. I hope that is alright. Please post if anyone knows the answer.0
