How to get back on the wagon?

I backslid and gained a few pounds and feel like a failure because it took me so long to get that weight off.
I was wondering if anyone who has been through this can offer me some advice on how to get back on track?
Thanks everyone

Just take it one day at a time. Don't be too upset if you have a small set back or downfall. Be proud that you are trying. I gained about 8 pounds over the last six month after losing 30 lbs. I'm trying to now lose 13 before my cycling season begins. It's even harder for me to find my motivation now than it was before. I am happy with my body, so I don't have the same drive that I did initially.
You just have to want to do it bad enough, and decide to start taking your phone with you whenever you eat something. My problem is that I don't log calories on trips (I travel every other week), and I'm not always honest with my snacks. That leads me to stop logging in, and my appetite takes over!
Try logging in for a week to start and cataloging everything, good or bad. Once you develop the habit of putting your foods in, set a goal (some attainable) and eat the way you need to achieve it. You just have to want it bad enough to stay vigilant!0 -
I've been back on ten days and am feeling so much better You could start with a very small deficit and tell yourself you will at least walk half an hour a day. What helped me was reading around the boards to get re-motivated and thinking about summer. I have gained 7lbs of the 18 I lost (hoping some water pounds will come off after I have ovulated and my muscles aren't so sore!) but I looked through my figures and can see that by April 7th (when I started last year) I could still be about 20lbs lighter than I was last year if I stick with this. If I lose 1lb a week until my birthday in June I will be 30lbs lighter. This has helped me get back to it as well as imagining what nice things I can wear in the summer if I stick with this. Hope that helps, good luck0

I think we've all had the same struggle. But do the things that worked before and do not look back at past errors. If you did it once you can do it again.
It might also be useful to try and analyze why you went off the wagon in the first place. Was it a friend you messed you up? A distraction at work? Emotional stress? Whatever it was, remained focused and use this as a learning moment.0 -
Thanks for taking the time to offer me advice, you all inspire me. I'm gonna work hard and get back in shape again.0
