Measuring calories burned doing HIIT

I am starting to add in HIIT training on the elliptical into my routine. However, I have not been able to find anyway to track calories burned doing that. I am going to be doing the elliptical workouts found here: http://www.nowloss.com/elip/ ....best way to measure calories burned, suggestions?

    Science and math say they are inaccurate for intervals. But a site trying to sell HRMs is a suitable substitute for those pesky little things ... right?

    The reasons why HRMs are inaccurate for intervals are quite simple and obvious. First, they aren't programmed for it. Their programming is based upon established relationshops between effort, o2 uptake, heart rate, and calories for a certain set of steady state cardio events ... not activities that push into anaerobic processes. Second, they cannot differentiate between the times when you are exerting all out and a rest period since they only count heart beats and then plug that into a formula ... the still elevated heart rate during a rest period gets calculated the same as an elevated heart rate during all out exertion although the workload differs greatly.
