Hi, I weighed myself this week and was horrified to find I have put on about 25 pounds since April. Back then I had a job I had to cycle 3 miles to each way, and another physical job on the fruit and veg section of a supermarket on an evening. We also went fell walking for miles at weekends. I ate what I wanted and was the thinnest I've ever been.
Since April it's all gone to pot. I now just have one job and it's a sedentary office job ten minutes walk from home. Also my husband has been ill and we stopped fell walking. I'm not eating any more than I was but I've piled on the pounds.
Trying to sort myself out now but it's cold and wet out. Started doing the 30 day shred but i obviously didn't warm up enough and on day 3 i felt my achilles ping, now limping a bit but desperate to continue doing a bit of exercise from home. Is there anything I could do do you think? Swimming is obvious answer but i don't feel like it!!!

What about your bike? It would be great exercise and would not irritate your Achilles. You do not want to do any form of exercise that involves flexion and extension of the foot. So swimming and bike riding are your only choices unless you belong to a gym. If that is the case, you can add rowing or a Nustep to the mix as well as weights.0

Swimming is a good low-impact activity.
But if you actually did injure yourself, get it checked out and make sure you're getting the right treatment and rehab exercises so as not to aggravate your injury.
I strained my calf a couple of weeks ago and it really sucks that I can't do all the things I've been doing until it's better. Grumble, grumble. But I'm following my physio's rehab plan to the letter and not pushing it, 'cause I really want to recover properly and not make things worse.
Meanwhile, reduce your calories a bit to account for the more sedentary job and lifestyle. You're not burning as much, so you can't eat as much.0 -
