Im in a calorie déficit. And was wondering which is better lifting light and doing more reps or lifting heavy with less reps

    For weight loss i would say heavy with less reps because then your body needs extra energy for the next 24-48 hours to help rebuild the muscle, where as light weight with higher reps would be leaning more towards cardio and endurance where the muscle isnt really schocked as much.

    I pretty much always recommend as heavy as reasonably possible, provided technique is solid.

    I guess it would depend on what you mean when you say light weight and how many reps. To some that could be 10-12 and others it could mean around 20 or more.

    For most of us it is beneficial to pick a program that includes multiple rep ranges.

    It probably wont make a significant difference depending on the length of the deficit. I mean if you ran a program doing 5 reps VS a program doing 10 the differences would probably be very small.

    It's best to follow the rep range recommended by whatever program you're following. If you're not following a good, pro-designed program, that's what i would suggest.
