 I am 5'6, 142 lbs. My goal is 130. I have used MFP in the past and it worked for me. I quit smoking three months ago and gained. Been back on MFP for a month and walking for exercise 3xweek. I have lost 0. Help! What am I doing wrong??

walking might not be enough exercise for you. You should try getting some higher intensity cardio to burn calories

    Your expecting changes to fast.

    1 you can exercise more
2 possibly not actually measuring your food ?
3 increase level of intensity of your current exercise
    4 start lifting weights
    5 try harder
    6 wait longer
    7 increase your calories
    8 decrease your calories
    9 lower carbs
    10 more carbs

There are a million opinions, my point it this takes time and everyone is different. My honest suggestion would be #1 & #4

The day before yesterday your calories totaled 850. If I were to venture a guess, I'd say you aren't eating enough. There are tons of threads on here about figuring out how many calories you need to fuel your body and work outs while losing weight. That is assuming you're logging everything you eat.

You need to eat more as it looks like you are eating far below what you body needs JUST TO SURVIVE! Figure out your BMR and TDEE and eat between the two numbers.

    Honestly, its that simple.

You quit smoking! That's what matters! Focus on eating better and have a little patience. Exercise is a plus.

Thank you for the encouragement, I know you are right. When I diet, I get this weird fear of eating so I know I am not eating enough. I will take others advice and check my numbers.

I think we get into the "diet" mindset. I grew up with loads of them so when we actually get to eat it feels wrong. I think you'll see more results if you are weighing and measuring your food accurately and getting at or near your actual calorie goal.

Yes, you are correct. Sometimes we do get that mindset and think "less is better", but in the end we need to remember not to be in too much of a hurry.

Cograts on quitting smoking, OP! I did that myself a couple of years ago, and I know how tough it can be. Hang in there!
