How do you friend request someone?

I'm not usually this lame but this app seems hard to use-

    Just click on their name or picture and it should take you to a page where you can click "send message" or "add friend"

    Thanks I tried that but when I click on a name It does nothing. It seems that would be the intuitive way... I finally found something that told me to hit "home", then "..." Then "friends" and I can do it from there - type the name in.
