technical question

When I comment on someone's status in my news feed, or on a message board conversation, and someone responds later on, I get a notification by email that someone responded to my comment. But when I click on the link in the email for that conversation, it just takes me to my profile. Does anyone know how to get back to that comment thread? I ask because I've been making a lot of comments, so I forget.
