Weight Lifting & Calorie Counting

There are several gym equipment pieces - almost always cardio related, that count calories burned. While likely not spot on accurate, it at least gives a starting point. But when strength training, mostly weight lifting, there is not a comparable means of counting burned calories. Anyone know of literature out there, an iPhone App, or??? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing myself. I started working out on my sons weight bench set to tone up and really enjoy that more then the treadmill.

On myfitnesspal, when you log your exercise, it will ask what you did and how many reps and it'll figure out calories burned.

If you log your weight-lifting under the "strength" category, it won't give you a calorie burn. If you go to the exercise tab, then to the cardiovascular section and type in strength training, you can get an estimated calorie burn. Hope it helps!
