Calorie needs when sick

So I'm fighting off a cold right now, and I was so hungry today! I ended up eating about 350 calories over my target (still in the deficit range but not by much) today just to feel satisfied and not crazy!

Is there something to this? Does your body use more energy when fighting off something? It was just such a drastic increase in hunger for me.

When I'm sick, I don't count. I eat when and what I can. Bodies need fuel to fight off sickness, and a few days of going over (or being under if it's a butt/stomach/mouth cold) won't derail me. I wouldn't worry too much; if it felt like legitimate hunger, your body probably wanted and needed those calories.

I'm in the same camp as missiontofitness, I don't count when I'm ill. First off my body needs calories to fight the sickness and secondly I am really fussy about what I actually want to eat when I'm ill. Get well soon OP!
