I'm not familiar with protein drinks/shakes... There is a target brand Whey Protein Chocolate powder in my house... Now this is similar to what everyone's drinking, similar, bad for you? And what do you all typically mix it with, water? Or almond/soy milk would be better ? Than regular milk? Enlighten me on protein shakes =P fav brands?

Most of the powders are the same, if you get it from a reputable brand. They only differ in taste, and protein/ calories ratio. If you're looking for an awesome brand with solid taste, I use MTS Whey. http://www.tigerfitness.com/MTS-Machine-Whey-Protein-5lbs-p/mtswhey.htm

Also, I'd recommend checking out Kara on youtube. She makes a bunch of stuff with protein powder. http://youtu.be/I_BhT_D4q9M

Two of my favorite things to make with protein powder are oatmeal and smoothies. My favorite flavor is Quest's Vanilla Milkshake protein powder <3
To make good oatmeal I usually mix half a scoop in with the serving size of whole grain old fashioned quaker oats and almond milk (I make it over a stove for more even cooking than microwave), then for extra flavor I'll add either some kind of nut butter, jam, or even modest amounts of tollhouse morsels (pumpkin spice flavor makes for a really nice seasonal oatmeal).
For the smoothies, I'll mix one scoop of protein powder with one cup of almond milk (or water, tastes good with both but the added calcium in almond milk is nice) and about one tablespoon of nut butter to add flavor (my favorite is justin's maple almond butter, but jif has a lot of unique flavors out there too in their hazelnut spread varieties) and ice. Sometimes I'll skip the ice and add a frozen banana if I have really ripe ones nearby :)
    Be creative!
