I'm 5"11 just finished losing 33 pounds, but need to lose more. My lowest weight was 180 and i was very happy with it, but havent seen that weight for many, many years. I am shooting for 190-200. My heaviest was 289. I am large boned, and think that 190 is probably the lowest i should go, and still stay healthy0

I'm 5'10" and got up to 330. I'm at around 245 now. I have a goal of 150, but I think anything under 170 should feel good. It's been decades, though, so it's hard to remember! I'll find out when I get there.0

I am 6 foot tall and I currently weigh 215. My goal is 175. That is where I look best. I weighed 145 in high school and looked too skinny. Tall ladies we have such an advantage - we can carry more weight than shorter women without looking too big. I used to dislike my height when I was younger but now I embrace it! I love it! It's a blessing!

5'10.5" here and currently 143lbs. Started on here at 166lbs. Looking to lose about another 5lbs which will bring me to where I feel most comfortable with my body. Profile pic was taken on NYE, as you can see smallish waist but hips is really where I need to work on. In no rush to lose the last 5, I want it to stay off permanently, so slow and steady.
Like others said, hated my height up until maybe 4 years ago, always comparing myself to my much smaller friends..funny how that changes as you get older0 -
I'm 6'1-and-a-bit, and I'm pretty sturdy framed (massive shoulders, hands, feet), and I wouldn't go below 175, and would probably be comfortable around the 185-190 mark.0

Sorry to chime in but my wife is 5'10. She was up to almost 290lbs and is now down to 177lbs. I think she looks absolutely stunning but her goal is 165lbs. I really think on you ladies it depends on your body type and by your very nature of being taller than the average woman you can carry more weight and still look great. My wife says she feels good at this weight but still wants to drop another 10-15 lbs cause she has a little tummy pooch she wants to get rid of and some extra in the butt (that I love, and *secret* most guys love).
What really helped my wife was finally realizing, accepting, and loving the fact that she was tall. She spent her childhood berating herself for being big(ger). She did not embrace being taller and missed out on really honing her athletic body. I think that is her biggest regret was not participating in more activities of the sporting and athletic nature.
Anyway as a guy who loves his taller wife (been with her for 20 years) try to embrace your inherent athletic advantages. Move more and see how great it is to be tall and have that extra strength that you have.
Good luck!
Love your reply and agree with joleenee too.
I'm 5'10 and don't really have a concrete goal weight because for years I never weighed myself (not through denial in the start, but it was in the end as although I could still get into all my clothes, there was a good chunk of my wardrobe that I had stopped wearing because I looked like a sausage squeezed into it ). Goal is for me to fit into a particular pair of trousers, then I'll know I'm back where I was 5 years ago, though I don't know exactly what weight that was.
Started on MFP at 196 in March, now around 177. I *think* I still have about 10-15lbs to go, but not exacty sure. I feel pretty good now though.0 -
I'm 5'10 and weigh 150 now. My goal is 140. Up until I got married six months ago, I had always weighed 140. Then went up to 160- way too much going out to eat! Although 140 may not be for everyone, that's where I'm most comfortable.0

I'm 5'10.5 My goal weight is 180 (one anything really lol). My highest was 315 and my current is 247. Still a long way left to go. I'm sort of a weird frame, giant feet (12's) and hands, wide hips and shoulders, but tiny tiny wrists. I can easily wrap my middle finger and thumb around them up to the knuckle. I've always been heavy so I have no idea what I look like under all this junk. I guess I'll find out soon enough0

I am5'11 and currently 195 - trying to decide on a good goal, thinking 155. I know I start to feel more confident around 170
I'm 6'0" tall with a wide bone structure! Hips, shoulders, I could be a line backer That's why I stopped looking at the numbers like the only option. Even after I lost 100 lbs that stupid BMI still says I'm "obese". My goal is to feel good about my body and lower my body fat %, that's all I care about these days. Being tall throws a lot of calculations off the charts for girls, so I quit using them!0 -
I'm 5"10. I started out at 205 lbs. I'm currently between 162-167 lbs. (I keep losing and gaining the same 5 lbs) When I first started losing my goal was 175 lbs, then I got to 175 lbs (profile pic) and lowered it to 170. Then I got to 170 lbs, and lowered to 165 lbs. Now the goal is between 150-155 lbs. For me, I had to see myself at the weight and what I could do fitness wise at that weight and decide if I wanted to go lower or not. I was weak and slow at 205 lbs. At 175, I was stronger but slow in hiking and biking. At 170 lbs, I could bike and hike around japan in 95 degree temps and humidity. And now I can do the tougher boot camp classes at my gym. I plan to be pretty fierce at 155 lbs.0

I'm 6' and have lots and lots to lose. I'm still near the beginning of my journey. I can't go below 165 without looking sickly - my big hips look very very thin in a size 10 jeans. I am what they call big-boned so some of the charts also can be wrong for me. I look still slim and trim up to 190-200. My eventual final goal will be around 180 (setting smaller goals as stepping stones for now)0

At 6'1" I've always been thin, so when I noticed myself eating nonstop during and after the holidays (thanks mom for that extra large bag of Pomegranate Brookside chocolates...that I ate in one weekend) I knew I had put on a few pounds. But when I stepped on the scale and saw 170 I had to make a change. In high school I weighed around 145 pounds, by the time I finished college in 2013 I was up at 155 - I figured I beat the Freshman 15 so I was good. Well I'm hoping to get back to about 150. No EXACT weight I want to be but I would like to be at or under 155 again. It's all what you're comfortable with and what you're used to. I know some shorter girls say they feel skeletal at this weight I am now - but to me this is the heaviest I've been.
Keep up the good work ladies and stick with the healthy lifestyle!0 -
Hi tall ladies! I'm 5'10'' and at 167 lbs, but I'd like to drop down to 150. I just started wearing a Fitbit and tracking my walking after my desk job caught up with me (woof, that was an easy 10 lbs), and I've started taking a variety of cardio classes 3-4 times a week.0

I'm 5'11" and got up to 192 before finding MFP and kicking this weight. I initially wanted to loose the 20lbs I'd kept on since being pregnant 2 years ago. Well that happened pretty fast so kept on going. I'm at 160 now and thinking 150 might be my last goal.0

I'm 5'10 and 155. My goal weight is between 140-145. I haven't been below 170 in maybe 10 years (I'm 24) and I've never been at the weight I probably should be at, so I don't know what feels best. Here's the thing, at 170 and 155 I don't look much different. Saggier sure, because I had a baby (220), but I carried the weight well. So it really depends on what your body shape can handle.0

I am 5'10 3/4 and I started at 275 in spring of 2012. I got down to 219 and had some life changes and what not, but I never really gained a lot back. I'm at 225 now and I've finally got myself in gear to lose more. I've always had a goal of 180. Then I will go from there to see if I need to lose more.. But right now, I think I'd just be happy if I got below 200. Lol0

I'm about 5'10, and my highest weight was 175 and my lowest was 130. 130 was far too low (that was a size 4 for me) and it wasn't healthy or maintainable. My "happiest" weight was about 140-145. I am currently 160 (about a size 10) and I would like to get back to 150 or maybe a little lower.0

I'm 6'1 and currently around 215, just started tracking and am hoping to get to a fit 170ish. Aiming for it by summer! Feel free to add me0

I'm just glad to currently be the size of a college linebacker instead of the size of an NFL linebacker. I take after my father, who was a football player, and sadly not after either of my grandmothers, both of whom were professional dancers.
I also have really big, straight shoulders--which, yes, throws off the charts, but I think that clothes hang really nicely from broad, strong shoulders, so I am OK with it.
I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around those of you who are 5'10" but aiming for 140 or 150...are you very flat chested? Short-waisted? Small-boned?

I'm 5'11 and at my highest of 286lbs.
I'm not really sure where my goal weight will be. I vaguely remember being 160lbs in high school and feeling huge next to my friends. With age has come an acceptance that I am tall and an hourglass shape, I don't want to lose too many curves so I'm aiming for 180lbs and see how I feel there.0 -
Hi, I am 5ft 11.5in and currently 175 lbs having lost 12lbs in four weeks of using myfitnesspal. I always thought of myself as slim, but as the years have gone by the weight has consistently crept on. I'm lucky I carry my weight quite evenly all over. When I reached 187lbs though and a uk size 14 I wasn't happy. Especially as my BMI put me in the overweight section.
The image attached shows my weight at three points, the first pic i was a uk size 8 and I think I looked too skinny, but then again I was only 18! And the middle pic is what I'm aiming for and I think I was a uk size 10. If I can get back there I'll be happy and nip this creeping weight gain in the bud! 12 lbs down, 21lbs to go.0
