Hello everyone! I'm starting my new lifting program on Monday and I'm wondering what supplements others take while weight training. My routine includes both lifting and cardio. Right now, I plan on taking a multi-vitamin, calcium, fish oil, L-carnitine and 100% whey protein. Any advice from those who know their stuff about supplements??
Thanks!
Thanks!

You should get some blood test to see what your body lacks or not. Without knowing what vitamin/minerals defficiencies you have, you can't know exactly what to suppliments. For example, most young women may suffer from iron defficiencie, but it's just a guess. Maybe you are a student, pretyy stressed and you have zinc or magnesium defficiencies.
You can just do the tests, if getting them checked by a physician is a cost for you.
Calcium, vitamin C and omega3-6-9 (from fish oil) are quite good-for-everyone supliments. Biotin, L-carnitine and extra protein are largely used for people doing weight training. But this is just generic, you are different.0 -
I take BCAA's before I lift because I workout fasted and I take a multivitamin and vitamin D. You could take creatine, too.0

I agree that you should get a blood test done. I'm a 22 year old female as well and when I got a blood test done I found out I wasn't getting nearly enough Vitamin D. Make sure you tell your doctor about the supplements you are taking and ask if they are really necessary for your body. Good luck!0

I take vitamin D because I am deficient. I take a multi, fish oil and calcium, magnesium and zinc because when you are deficient in Vitamin D you have trouble adsorbing other vitamins. but you may not need any of those. I also take Vitamin C if I'm feeling run down. They seem to help me. If I am feeling OK, I don't take them.0
