Learning to say no, and I think I'm going to win!!

I feel like a huge success today and this week, I've managed to stay nearly within my calorie goal, said no to a TON of temptations, and I feel like I'm finally able to decide what I eat instead of letting my hunger decide for me!

I managed to avoid "Whopper Wednesday" even though my wife wanted one, I went to Burger King, and got her a Whopper with fries...and resisted getting myself one! The smell, oh the smell.......

On the same night instead of drinking my usual 5-8 beers on poker night, I stayed within my 3 beer limit... and felt great the next day!

Instead of having a beer or two each day, I am looking at the calories I have available, and deciding not to 'waste' them on beer.

Grocery shopping today I told my wife no to 'crack cupcakes', as well I bought a bunch of healthy things like oranges, greek yogurt, snap peas, carrots, and ranch dip so I can have veggies for lunch, fruit and yogurt for breakfast, etc... instead of having my usual 2 peices of cinnamon raisin toast and margarine (400calories for two damn peices of toast).

Looking forward, this coming week is going to be GREAT, easy to stick to plans because I made sure the food is available. I am also deciding to PRE-ENTER my breakfast and lunches, so in the morning I don't have to 'wing-it' and throw something together, I have a list to go by and make sure I eat my breakfast before leaving, and make sure I pack my lunch properly... no more forgetting the snap peas until they go bad, or forgetting I have nuts in the cupboard for 3 months....

Just had to post, feeling great about my journey, and can't wait to start seeing the pounds fall off :)

THANKS FOR READING!

I do the same things now as well! Good luck on your journey! I told myself recently "I control the food now...the food doesn't control me!" Planning is one of the most essential parts in this process...if you fail to plan you plan to fail. :-)

Pre logging is a great idea. I do that on days I know I'm going to be around a lot of temptations. If you know you're going to be busy, you could always take it one step further and pre-prepare your meals and keep them in tupperwares stored in the fridge. They're great for grab-and-go situations, and keep you on track. You can even tweak certain meals to not need refrigeration if you know you won't have access to a microwave. (sandwiches, salads, wraps etc over chicken and veggies)
