Macros, MFP or TDEE?

I'm wondering what your opinions are.

Would you use the MACRO settings that are auto set for you on MFP or the MACRO settings auto set for you for TDEE method? (I used Scooby's TDEE calculator) and it has my carbs much higher than MFP and my protein a little lower than MFP.

Thanks!

what do you mean auto set by TDEE method? TDEE method is just a calorie counting method, it really has nothing to do with your macro settings. The macro settings you choose are generally related to certain body composition and fitness goals that you have...they really don't matter so much for actual weight loss.

Whether you're doing TDEE or MFP method for calorie counting, you can manually change your macros to whatever you want them to be. MFP's default macros are a bit carb heavy for me and way too low on protein...but then again, it really depends on fitness goals, etc. I lift weights as my primary workout, so more protein is very important. Protein is important anyway while dieting, so I'd recommend getting at least 0.8 - 1 gram for every 1 Lb of LBM. Get between 20-30% fats and the rest carbs.

MFP's standard macros are a bit low on protein for weight loss, I would set that to 30-35% and reduce carbs correspondingly.

    Thanks.

I know 40/30/30 is 'popular' among some MFP users.

    Scooby's had it auto-set at 25% protein, 55% carbs and 20% fat.
