No water weight loss very low carb. Anyone else?

I have been doing very low carb for three weeks now and have noticed some small but positive changes so I have every intention of continuing long term. I have cut out all processed carbs and severely restricted healthy carbs (i.e. No tomatoes or other higher carb veggies, no fruit at all). Without boring you with all the details I can summarize that I have done extensive reading and research on low carb and am following all the rules, no cheating.
To date I have not experienced any keto symptoms, which is strange given that I am not supplying my body with any carbs (yes, I know there are small amounts in almost all foods). I did not either experience any loss due to water weight the first week.
Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so did you stick with it? When did you start losing weight and did you ever experience any symptoms?
Only interested in answers from those who honestly did not cheat and followed all the rules please. Also not interested in the usual comments about weighing food, knowing what's hidden in the food etc...
Really curious and looking forward to any replies!!

Are you also tracking and limiting your calories? Weight loss won't happen if you aren't in a calorie deficit.

It really does sound like you're eating more than you think.

There is a low carb group here that you might want to post in as well.

IF you are not losing you are overeating = fact.

    calorie deficit = weight loss

if you do keto and overeat you will not lose weight.

Just want to restate that I'm not looking for advice as there are plenty of scientific studies out there. what I am hoping for is someone who has experienced something similar. Thanks!

Perhaps you should go look at those studies, if you're not interested in what people here have to say.

Oh boy... I am very interested in what people have to say, which is why I wrote the post in the first place. However for the third time, I never asked for anyones advice. I'm not saying that your advice isn't good, it is in line with everything I have read and believe. Your advice and comments are great...just not what I am looking for.

I am merely asking if anyone else has been in the same boat.

I've been in a boat before. But, if you won't answer any queries as to specifics, how can anyone know if they've been in the same boat?

I can go out of ketosis when my overactive liver pushes my blood glucose level up. Have you checked your BG at a pharmacy etc.

The other factor is protein, if you are eating low carb low fat you may not see ketosis symptoms.

If you are looking specifically people who have experienced this...your best bet is to ask in the Low carber daily forum or the keto group.

Besides the lack of water weight loss, why do you think you're not in ketosis? I don't get the usual symptoms, except less hunger. Otherwise I don't really know if I'm in ketosis. Have you checked your blood/breath/urine?

You're pretty limited in what answers you're willing to "allow" here. You asked a question, to which the answer might be "no" - but you won't accept "no" as an answer. Further, you will only accept answers from people who did low-carb exactly as you did. IOW, you want validation that your experience is the norm, not actual answers.

If you're not receiving the answers you want, then perhaps nobody reading this thread (so far) has had a similar experience, so that gives you your answer, right?

You could always go on a low-carb forum. You may find a bigger pool there, but you will probably still receive some info that you don't specifically want to "allow" as an answer, so be forewarned.

I did do very strict low-carb, "no cheating," per your exacting parameters, but since I didn't experience the same thing you did regarding no water loss, you won't accept my answer, so I won't bother going into details. Good luck.

Thanks MeIRC. I don't think I'm in ketosis only because I haven't had any of the typical symptoms. That said, I have also read that one doesn't have to have symptoms to be in ketosis and your experience supports this. I have also experienced less hunger and my suger cravings are not significant anymore which really helps me stay away from junk food in general. I'm not unhappy with my results as I am eating much healthier. I also only have a few kgs to lose so I understand that the process will be slower than if I was overweight.

Curious to hear other experiences with respect to symptoms and how long it look to notice a difference.

Oh, are we allowed now to give experiences that aren't similar to yours? If they're answers you want to hear? You were pretty specific earlier in that you will only allow experiences that were like yours.

Not sure what you're looking for here.

    Let's go over this again:

    1. We're allowed to answer, if we did LC just like you did.
    2. We're allowed to answer if the result of that was like yours.
    3. We're allowed to answer if the result of that wasn't like yours, but it's an answer you like.

Okay, think I've got it now. This still leaves me out so again, good luck.

Must be new to MFP forums. OP I wish you luck with whatever it is you are trying to do.
