It's so tough to eat fruit and not go over your sugar. And also---sodium! I go over that all the time! I need words of wisdom. Please tell me what you do to keep your sugar and sodium in check?

More veggies instead of fruit, and less canned soups/ boxed foods? Usually when I see people go way over, it's because of those...0

The recommendation for sugar is based on the American Heart Association's for ADDED/REFINED sugar. Just keep your added sugar in check...personally, I avoid high fructose corn syrup completely.
Eat your fruit...it's good for you. I hardly think the obesity epidemic is due to people eating their 2-3 servings of fruit per day. Little common sense here.
As for sodium, more natural, whole foods. If you're eating a lot of processed food and/or you eat out a lot, you're going to be getting a lot of sodium (and added sugar/high fructose corn syrup). I have to watch sodium due to hypertension...that means most of my food is prepared from scratch, whole food ingredients. I eat a lot of veg, fruit, nuts, lean proteins, and healthy fats...processed food is minimal.0
