I just graduated college with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Social Sciences and I am looking to do my student teaching in Amherst County, VA. I am looking for friends to help me lose weight and stay accountable. I am really heavy and want to lose about 150 pounds over the next 2 to 3 years. I run on encouragement and advice. Any and all advice is welcomed.

Welcome. Amherst is a lovely part of the state. I'm in Richmond.
A couple of pieces of advice. First is congratulate yourself on the first step. You've started here. Take any victory and celebrate it. So yeah you. Baby steps. Take everything in slow baby steps. Nothing crash, nothing sudden. Try to get some exercise every day, even if it is only walking a few minutes. If you're student teaching you'll be active, but make some time for yourself. It'll help your fitness, your health, but it'll help your sanity too. It can become your reward. Increase your exercise as you can.
Be honest with yourself and log everything you eat here on MFP. Remember the only person you are being accountable to is you. If you aren't honest, it is yourself you are lying to. No one else. You'd expect your students to be honest with you. Can you ask less of yourself?
Expect bumps in the road. Don't worry about them. Accept them and move on. And you'll even mess up diet or exercise sometimes. So what? We all do. Don't sweat the small stuff. There's a line from a Carrie Underwood song (Crazy Dreams) that fits: "Never let a day be bad enough to go and talk you into giving up."
Don't be afraid to treat yourself once in a while.
You've started and that's the best thing of all. So celebrate that.
And congratulations on the degree.0
