Sugar where you thought there wasn't :O

Cannot believe how much sugar is in veg, I expected it in fruit, -10 on my sugar intake already and havent had my evening meal, over 700 calories left and going great with the others too. Totally gutted, serves my right for eating processed food today grrr. Was looking forward to my root mash this evening.Any ideas what I can eat thats low in sugar and you don't have to chew (dental/neuralgia problems).Its my first day.

    Hummus, refried beans or other mashed beans?

    You could sub cauliflower for half of the root vegetables in your mash. Or just eat mashed cauliflower.

    But , if you are within your calories is going over on sugar this one day really going to matter much?

    It's really added sugars that we want to try to be more aware of. Natural sugar in fruit and veggies is okay.
  • I decided on having the veg tonight anyway and learning from my mistakes for tomorrow. I have had an eye opener, a tin of tomato soup sugars 20!! and I have had two lots of porridge today but with it being flavored contained 15 sugars per serving... lesson learned. Thanks for the comments.
