Dry hands

Since I've been working out I have noticed that my hands are getting more dry and cracked. Is this normal?

Hi friend! It might be because of hydration issues or your skin reacting to the evaporation caused by sweat. It's also winter, so if you're in a cold region, that may be affecting your skin, too.
I have to use hand lotion a lot, and stick with brands like Alba Botanica and EOS because so many others either don't keep my hands moisturized or they leave my hands feeling sticky. When it gets really bad, I exfoliate my hands to remove the dry dead skin so the healthy skin can get the moisture it needs. It's really easy to exfoliate: Grab a spoonful of brown sugar, add just enough water to make it damp, and rub it gently over your hands for a few minutes. If you have coconut oil, you can use coconut oil instead of water to make the brown sugar workable. That mix does a great job of exfoliating and moisturizing at the same time.
Hope your hands find some relief!0 -
It depends. If you're working out outside in cold or dry weather they'll dry out. If you're sweating a lot on your hands, that can dry them out too. I find that Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula hand cream is a great way to restore them. But if you put it on, make sure you can wait 5-10 minutes before you have to touch anything!0
