Just how accurate are the exercise trackers?

So, last night at work I had to go down to the pharmacy five times and chose to use the stairs. I tracked it as five minutes- about thirty seconds one way times two for each trip. I mainly track as a means of tracking choices to exercise or as a means of tracking how active I have been. The calories burned according to MFP seems rather.... Optimistic.

I never eat back my calories, but still- is this really accurate?
