Looking for a mfp old-timer

Newer to the site- 50 something days that I have actually been using it. I have a decent amount of knowledge, though I likely still have a lot to learn (eg. still learning about the chem. process re: low-fat foods..that is a thing?). I am really lucky that I have made some good connections but I'd love to have one more old-timer here who will talk straight to me.
Though I have a decent grasp on how my body works (to a degree) I waffle with why I am even doing this. I am a mom of 2 young children, I am not currently faced with weight related health risks at 175ish (5'6"). I like thinking and processing the thoughts and feelings I have and therapists are mostly clueless about this (so far). I have recently acquired a 40 hour week job to help fund our older child's education and it is intense and overwhelming.
Like so many others I can easily talk myself out of a good choice. I am passionate, work hard to offer supportive comments to my mfp friends even with the full time schedule and I am committed to the process even though I am not sure what is driving me. I would likely be very annoying to many people so feel free to pass me by! That said I am always honest and though I do skip some spices here and there work hard to be true to life in my log.
This is my second attempt at weight loss, lost 40 last year and gained 30 back right away. My first goal at mfp was to stop grazing on unhealthy choices all day and to start moving again and I have done both those things. I at least stopped the gain cycle. If I lose again I want to go slow (down six in 50 days right now). I am trying to be more flexible with my family needs while not giving up simply because I don't get to have the schedule I want.
If you find that helping out a newbie restores or fuels your own motivations, please think of me!
Thanks folks, xoxo.
