    Thank you for responding.

    To be honest, I'm not sure what my goal is. This is my first time counting calories. My limit is 2400 calories, but being so conscious with counting, I end up eating way less than I'm supposed to. I don't understand this concept.

  • My suggestion is to first have a specific goal to strive for.

    BMI is not the end all be all but it definitely can be a good starting point. What I did was take the middle # in the BMI deemed healthy weight range for my height. nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm


    Then go here to calculate your BMR & TDEE: iifym.com/iifym-calculator/

    Weigh your food.
    Log everything that you consume.
    Make adjustments to where you are expending the most calories that is not healthy. ie. Eating 500 calories in white bread. Swap that out for whole grain. etc

    On one of these forums there's a sticky thread for newbies request a MFP mentor which I strongly recommend since you seem a bit lost.
