Calorie Counters

Hello everyone; I have a question; do you think it's a good investment to buy a calorie counter watch for myself or is the calorie counter on the machines good enough? Which would be more accurate? I know that might sound like a stupid question, but I'm sort of new to this.

A heart rate monitor is going to be more accurate than the readings from machines, but they are both estimates with wide margins of error.
HRMs are also only designed for use with steady state cardio, so whether or not to invest in one would depend on the types of activity you are likely to use it for.0
