ok, i usually buy a bunch of frozen veggies steam them and then mix them all together, before i continue, here is how it reads for each package im using

(mixed veg)pack = 2/3 per serv 4 serv
(kale) pack 22/3 per serv 4 serv
(green peas)pack = 2/3 serv 4 serv
(broccoli)= 1 per serv 4 serv
black-eye peas= 1/2 per serv 4 serv

ok doing the math that addes up to about 14 cups right?

ok so when i was done cooking it all, and i measured it out into the container, it was only around 7.5 cups

did i do something wrong or are the measurements on the back way off?

When working out portions of solid foods it is always advisable to use weight, not volume. If you don't have a kitchen scale I suggest you invest in one. Measuring instead of weighing can be off 10-25+% depending on what it is you are measuring.

It looks like you measured it after it was cooked. The serving sizes provided are the pre-cooked volume. Food loses water during cooking, which reduces it's volume.

Food is packaged by its weight, not volume. Should have what a serving size is in grams in parenthesis - use that.
