Today, I repeated a mantra: 29, 29, 29 to myself all morning. No longer was I going to be comfortable at ten minute miles (for a 30:00 on the treadmill at lunch). I must push out of the comfort zone to achieve my goals. This concept isn't new to me (lifelong runner), but it's new *again* to me. And ... I crushed it. I knew I could.
I just thought I'd post it here as a reminder or a helpful tip to those just getting started. Set your long-term goals if that's important to you - BUT regularly set short-term, achievable goals, too. Push yourself in the now. Boost your self-esteem and set YOUR OWN goals. It has a snowball effect.
