Looking Forward, Not Back

I could regurgitate the same old story I've told myself, my friends and others a million times on a million diet and exercise programs, some more successful than others. That I am sick of being overweight, that this time is different, that if I can just get past the first few weeks it'll be easy, that I can't believe I used to call myself fat when I weighed 120lbs, that blah blah blah.
No, here's my new focus. NOW. Right now, I just decided to eat an orange instead of the Snack Pack pudding I found in the back of my fridge. Just a 1/2 hour before that I decided to watch an old episode of Twilight Zone while on my elliptical instead of updating my Facebook status.
A series of choices that all happen now. Not tomorrow, not yesterday. NOW.
I'm looking to create a space for myself where making the active, healthy choice is the easiest and most attractive choice to make by surrounding myself with good food, active people and supportive friends. I hope to find some of that here, on MyFitnessPal and to share those choices with you.
I have about 40-50lbs to lose but I don't want to get too bogged down with the numbers. Feeling more energized, healthier and stronger are the intended goals for me right now and even just making some basic choices like I did today, I feel hopeful.
