I gave up drinking Feb13, 2014. My goal at the time was to see if I could. Turns out not only could I give it up, but weight loss followed it naturally. For 4+ years (almost 5 now) I've been riding one of these

and doing it pretty aggressively. To the point that I could pile on 2500 calories worth of booze and break even on weight... unfortunately, that was at 273.5lbs. Since giving up the sauce I've lost 40+ pounds. Unfortunately, I plateaued in late October (confluence of numerous events). And the riding season is pretty much over right now.

My goal is to lose another 45lbs and get myself down to ~15% body fat. I'm a 44 year old guy, though. I recognize that I've got my age and previous injuries against me, but screw it... I've already got a handcycle... that's got to be the hardest part. I also work for myself, from home, essentially in a personal gym (elliptical, pullup tower, bench, free weights...). So I have no excuse for not exercising (aside from age issues).

So on the food front I've decided I need to count calories. I'm a decent home cook in NYC. So I have nearly unlimited resources there as well. Also, my wife is 105lbs and is happy to eat a bowl of pasta while I have the alfalfa sprouts and a plate of mashed yeast.

I've already been on MFP for 6 weeks. It's been interesting to see where my weaknesses are. One of them being actually counting everything when I cook it myself. I've found that I actually use less oil, but get it all out of the pan. Count everything that goes in, and make sure it all comes out. But I'll be damned if I have to slug back the soy sauce left over in my now-empty bowl of sugar snap peas.

I'd like to lose a lot of that weight over this winter as when I'm riding aggressively again I'm sure I will be putting on a lot of water weight (I use creatine during the height of the season). So I'd like to have a good idea where I stand before shooting myself in the foot(datawise) by working out.
