Hello,
First, this is a huge step for me posting. I've been lurking around these boards for the last two weeks and finally got the courage to post. I enjoy reading the posts and figured if I am really serious about getting healthy I needed to utilize this great community.
Second, thank you for all the inspirational stories. I started running (if I can even call it that) two weeks ago from tomorrow. I logged my first day in the food diary yesterday and wow do things add up quickly!
I am currently following a couch to half marathon program and hope to complete my first half marathon in late September. I haven't ran in years so it is a lofty goal, so realistically I plan to keep following the plan until I can (and in the process move towards a healthy lifestyle). It is also encouraging that my husband started running again too on Thursday.
Again thank you and I am excited to have found this great resource!

congrats on getting started. I also just started this week and I think of mfp as a new facebook. I find myself going on here more now as I get inspired by reading stories and seeing healty posts. One of my goals this time to is to really get involved and communicate. Other times I have tried sites i did not get involved and noticed the people who post alot and make friends on these sites are the ones to get into shape.
I also want to get into running. I have never been a runner so I am making a goal of walking alot and getting into the running by Aug. and be running miles by Oct when it cools down here in Chicago. I hate the heat so to run when its 90 out... yikes...
Good luck and feel free to friend me.. like I said it's one of my goals.. to get involved.0 -
Hello, I'm new here too. It's great that you're getting back into running. I've always secretly wanted to be a runner. For now my goal is to just make it to the gym and get on the treadmill but hopefully one day I can actually run.
I hope you make all your goals.0 -
