whats your weakest area? strength training

My shoulders are weak, I assume it has something to do with them being smaller muscles in general but I can push myself everywhere except my shoulders I push them hard and feel it for days afterward

Where is your weakest area and how do you overcome it?

My legs. Like many guys I did not do much leg training with weights so my legs are weaker then they should be considering my upper body build. When my much younger very fit GF could whoop my *kitten* in leg wrestling, squats and leg press I started to add them.

My arms are definitely my weakest. I have quite a bit of leg strength from years of soccer and from recent dance, but no sports that I've played have ever required arm strength, so that's definitely my weakness.

Triceps and anterior deltoids are definitely the weakest for me.

I can deadlift about 90lbs, but can barely bench 40?

I don't know much about muscles or whatnot, but that seems a bit odd to me.

The shoulders take a beating in a lot of other movements too - often you don't really need to add much shoulder isolation work, especially if you include heavy compounds in your routine.

For me, it would probably be my lower back or external rotators.

Upper body - especially shoulders - I guess this isn't uncommon for women according to a coach at the Y.

my weakest spot are my arms. It's really hard for me to life weights sometimes and i can get really sore from lifting the lightest weights the day after. I still do weight training for my legs and arms but i dont see anything changing in my arms, only my legs

Shoulders and my left arm. My left rotator cuff has been bothering me since training and the left side is noticeably weaker than my right.

my wrists. I could be doing somethings wrong, because they ache a lot. the pain is tolerable though. it's not only weigh lifting, also at work.

Core excersises unfortunately... thats what breaking your back will do to you. I push through as much as I can take.

Hamstrings. While legs aren't my strong point, my hamstrings take a lot to stimulate for any type of growth.

Weakest area is my chest & shoulders so I make sure to work this area twice each week. In the past 2 months my shoulder press has gone up 20lbs and my bench has gone up 30lbs.

Same here, I deadlift around 120 Ibs but only bench 55, but DLs use core muscles including the back where as benches focus more on chest and arms? (I'm guessing here, feel free to correct me!!).

    So, arms totally!

Not odd at all. Upper bodies, especially for women, are weaker than lower bodies.

Inner forearms. In pull-ups, my back is strong enough and my biceps and my grip seems ok, but I get a burning sensation in the inner part of my forearms at the inner elbow crease.

Having said that, I am working these at 20 lbs fat overweight so I expect things to improve as I shed dead weight.

Bench is also a compound movement, depending on how it is done. It does use less of the larger muscles however.

Aha, thanks  so the use of the lower back and abs gives the DL more power?

Not exactly. Deadlifts should be using more leg/glutes - which are larger muscles. Bench should also use your core and back, depending on how you bench.

Glad I'm not the only one when it comes to shoulders, I've noticed my left arm is strong get than my right but to my knowledge I've never done any injury to it.

Nothing wrong with these numbers in relation, my Bench for example is 140KG, Deadlift is 220KG. As stated, more, larger muscles in the lower body, so lower lifts should always be much heavier.

More on topic, Back\Biceps are worst for me, Hate training Biceps though, and stayed away from training them at the start as was only doing compounds.

Just to be an awkward git, Shoulders\Tri's are one of my strongest area's. Trick with shoulders is patience, and not going too heavy too quick.

Welcome. And for the record, I deadlift twice what I can bench. It's usually OHP < bench < squat <deadlift.

OP: my shoulders are my weakest area. I've been doing standing overhead presses, Arnold presses, lateral raises, and upright rows to slowly but surely build the strength in that area.

    For me it's OHP<bench<deadlift<squat.

I think I could probably deadlift more than I squat if I used the sumo stance rather than the traditional stance for deads, and perhaps if my grip strength were greater than what it is now. My OHP is only around 80 pounds, but the others are over 100 pounds with squats being over 200.
