Weight Loss and Gastric Bypass

So - I had gastric bypass in September and have been doing great! I've lost 92 pounds and feel great. The last 2 weeks I have hit a plateau though. This is the same weight that I've hit a plateau when I've tried to lose weight in the past.
I've read some articles and it they've said something about eating less than 1000 calories a day can mess with your metabolism. I average about 500-600 calories a day and am worried that, that is why I'm sitting here for the past couple weeks. I've also been sick for the past 2 weeks or so and have been on some pretty hefty antibiotics, so I don't know what to think. Just down right now.

I understand this. I had my surgery in sept and am down abt 74 lbs and these past few weeks ive been losing abt a pound or less a week. I average abt 700 calories and 1000 with my protein drinks.0

Define, precisely , "mess with your metabolism"
You can't.
The theory is bunk.0 -
Best advise: check with your doctor. I've never had gastric bypass, but the average person should eat a minimum of 1,200-1,500 daily when trying to lose weight.0

I know that this surgery is a total game changer and that what you would do is not what a person with an entire stomach would do. I would consult your doctor and see what needs to be done to ensure you get adequate nutrition without stretching out your new stomach.0

Aren't there strict dietary guidelines for gastric bypass that you are supposed to follow? I think you need to follow your program/doctor's advice. Sounds like you could be heading toward malnourishment if you stay at this calorie intake, get run down and sick (which you said you are now). I would be VERY worried about you if I was a family member.0
