Visiting friends for the weekend, don't want to derail myself!

Going out of town tomorrow to spend a weekend with friends. I'm following the ketogenic diet plan and this is my 4th day on it. Would it be considered rude to ask the friends if I could bring some specific food accompaniments with me? I'm talking heavy cream for coffee and guac packs. I'm going to call them before we leave and give them a heads up. I really, really don't want to derail myself so soon after starting. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

It's not rude, although some people could take it that way. At any rate, it's your body and your eating, so it's a good thing to be assertive about your needs. I think it makes sense since keto is very easy to go out of.0

I'd think it odd .. but then I think that about any extreme form of food restriction dieting tbh
however .. if you were my friend, I'd just smile and say whatever you want and be totally happy for you to do whatever makes you happy.. visiting friends should be fun and hassle free0 -
I don't see a problem with that. If it were me, I'd clear you some space in my fridge from whatever you brought. You know your friends better than I do, though.0

I think it is perfectly fine! If you follow through with confidence, nobody will bat an eyelash. Putting your weight loss goals on hold for a weekend with your friends isnt worth it- you can still be true to your diet AND have fun with your friends. If they snub at you, well, it doesn't seem like they are the kind of people you should be around during this journey. good luck!0

As long as you're not putting them in a tough situation trying to accommodate you, it's not a problem. Since you're bringing your own stuff, it should be fine. Just make sure you don't make them feel bad if they bring snacks/meals for you but you won't eat it.0

Not rude, friends should understand! My husband and I when we go to family or friends bring along what we may need for the weekend, veggies, snacks etc... We are not shy in letting people know what we are doing and they are more than willing to accommodate us. Good Luck and have a great weekend!!

If they're your friends, they'll understand! Too many times, I've stuck to my diet M-F and then ate whatever I wanted on the weekend because I was out with friends. It really derails me and stalls progress! Do what's best for you and they'll understand!0

I spend a lot of time out of town with close friends. I bring my own stuff for healthy snacks and what not. They don't say a word and even help themselves to some of my foods. No biggie0
