Started a new commitment this week. Four days in and two lbs down, not much considering what I'd like to lose, but it's a promising start. . .

2lbs in 4 days? Um that seems like quite a lot, I'm sure it's probably water. Either way, sounds like you're on the right track. Kudos!0

Rome wasn't built in a day. aim for 2 pounds max weight loss per week. the faster you lose it the more likely you will be to gain it back.0

@mamabird100 - it's a marathon, not a sprint. How long did it take you to put on the weight in the first place? I bet it slowly happened over months/years, not in 4 days.
It's going to take the same amount of time to lose it. Aim for 1 lb/week (though you will likely lose more at the start, and it will slow over time).
Stick with it - hitting that goal and getting to eat at maintenance is so rewarding!0
