FONDUE - BAD! DON'T EAT IT!

Just kidding. But, I got you in here didn't I?
Yesterday I was in a thread about cheese and I posted that I was having fondue tonight. Fondue is one of my favorite things in the world. It's right up there with peanut butter.
Anyway, I was surprised to receive a number of PMs asking me either 1) for my recipe or 2) how I fit it into my diet.
Here's the thing. Fondue isn't bad. No food is. And you can actually make it fit fairly easily into macros.
My recipe is 440 calories per serving. It's high in fat at 31g, but I'm on a 1420 calorie diet and that fits in with my allocated fat macros (30%). It's 25 grams of protein...or brotein...get swole, yo. And 9 grams of carbs.
Add a side salad (...because cheese), some bread and some lean beef tips and you have a pretty solid, delectable meal with a nice macro balance.
So, yes my friends, you too can eat fondue. Now go forth into cheese glory.

Yeah but then you need to add the bread.
I need a fondue. Soon. Not gonna lie though, when my husband and I used to make it (we made the Swiss version, so emmentaler, gruyere, appenzeller, white wine, garlic, bit of Kirsh and lemon juice), we used 3 pounds of cheese and a whole bread loaf and ate the whole thing just the two of us.
Ah, memories.0 -
After a couple of years of self-imposed fon-DON'T, it's time to fon-DO! Thanks for setting me straight!0

Ah, memories.
I mentioned bread and fixings.
Can you overdue it? Yes. It's easy if you love it. But if you practice portion control, you can stay within even a lot calorie count.
That said, if you want to have a "devil may care" day, that's fine too every once in a while. I'm having this today (pre-logged two servings) and I will probably go over a bit - mostly because I'm going to have a couple drinks with it though.
