Pedometer and Calories

Hello all!
I recently got a Garmin Vivofit (similar to a Fitbit) pedometer, and I had a question about tracking it.
Should I be adding the walking to my exercise on here? I only use it for my daily walking around the office. For example, today I walked 6,238 steps for an estimated distance of 3 miles. Should I add that I walked 3 miles today, or not?
Thanks for advice and help!
