Wheat Berry Bread

Does anyone know about about general nurtitional value of wheat berry bread? They have a deli in my building that has it for sandwiches, and it's thick and very tasty. It would seem it is similar to whole grain breads and thus similar in nutritional value (and not the devil like white bread lol). I asked to see the packaging for it but there are no nutritional values listed. I did see a few in the food database but I guess I don't want to assume anything. So, is wheat berry bread a "good" choice?

***Arnold (or Orowheat depending on where you are)*** makes a wheat berry bread. It has decent nutrition & I actually buy it about 1/4 of the time when I do buy bread (which isn't incredibly often, I must admit).

You could look in the MFP database for it to get a general idea but I imagine it could vary a lot depending on what ingredients were used.

***Edit -- I lied -- it's not Arnold.. It's Earth Grains that makes the wheat berry bread I sometimes buy. Sorry!

I buy Earth Grains too. It's a little bit better nutritionally than Orwheat.

Generally speaking, generic wheat berry isn't the best, nor is it the worst. I'd look for brands like Earth Grains or some other high fiber, whole grain version.

I was curious so I searched for a recipe and found the following information --- Nutrients: One 1-ounce serving provides 67 calories, 3 g protein, 13 g carbohydrates, 2 g dietary fiber, 1 g fat, 2 mg cholesterol and 113 mg sodium.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks everyone. Obviously it would be helpful to find the exact brand but I am not seeing too much deviation between the ones in the database.
