Step Trackers and Exercise from 3rd party devices (iphone)

So I am using my iPhone 6 to track my steps and I have that set up for MPF to read from. I then use Digifit to log my exercises and that also connects to the Apple Healthkit AND MPF. Now I am not getting dbl exercise entry logging so that is working fine but I am getting a steps calorie adjustment. I just want to confirm that I am not doubling up. I will use todays stats for examples
My Calorie goal for each days 2490.
Today I ate 2577
I had a walking exercise logged for 274 calories. I used Digifit to log and report and my iPhone also counted my step.s
I have a Steps calorie adjustment of 217
Adding those 2 together I have an exercise calorie count of 491
This leaves me 404 calories remaining.
Now, seeing that the steps adjustment is only 217 and my logged exercies is 274 AND I am set to sedentary (desk job) I THINK that the numbers jive correctly and I am not getting double credit for my 23 minute walk during work time.
Cany anyone confirm that I am thinking correctly? If I am wrong and I am double dipping I can turn off the steps counting in MPF but I dont think I am double dipping and today wouldnt have mattered anyways.

Why don't you try using one and see what you get and then repeat the same walking the next say to see if it's in the same range... Looks like it's accurate though.0

simplify it down to MFP and 1 activity tracker "
if it helps I'm set to sedentary and use a fitbit - I need to walk about 2500-4000 steps before I hit sedentary - if I walk about 10,000 I earn about 250-300 calories on my fitbit.. I'd say 5-6000 would be at a fairly brisk pace

What was your total step count for the day? 491 calories sounds like a lot of walking so I wonder if the walking you logged on Digifit have been double counted by your iPhone.
It would be advisable to stick to one method for measuring walking exercise - either iPhone or Digifit - to avoid overcomplicating it and potentially double counting.0
