Those waist-trimmer thingies

Do they actually help? I bought a cheap one for $5, and it's definitely making me sweat more around the mid-section. Does it actually make a difference to wear one?

No but sound nutrition and hard work do however.

The sweat you're referring to is condensation from your body heat.

Spanx does help tighten everything up under clothing but you have to buy a good one which will cost more than what you paid. And the good ones shouldn't make you sweat that much. ~

There is no clinical evidence to support the weight loss claims of neoprene waist trimmers. The sweating caused by the trimmers is negligible and usually wiped out by liquid replenishment. The only noticeable benefit is the slimming effect of actually wearing the neoprene waist trimmers

    Thats from LIVESTRONG>COM

waist trimmer belt will do nothing but suck cash from your wallet. Getting rid of belly fat burn from from the body takes a combination of several things. Proper nutrition, coupled with strength training focused on building muscles will remove excess body fat.

Waist trimmer belt and other fads will do nothing for your weight loss. Stick to the basics of nutrition and start working out and burning the fat from your body. I have seen miracles every week on tv watching "The Biggest Loser". You see some seriously obese people sheds pounds. They are proof it does not matter how big you have become or how over weight you are a lifestyle change can change everything

My bad... didn't realize you were talking about weight loss trimmers. Just thought you meant to hold everything in. Yeah don't believe that you actually loose weight from wearing them. ~

I wore one for a week after giving birth to my second child (2 months ago). It helped to hold my core whilst my uterus shrunk back to its normal size. i looked less bloated. But, of course, it didn't burn any fat. That's not how it works.
