It has taken me a long time to work up the courage to finally post in here, years actually, but here it goes... So I'm not necessarily new here, I've been a lurker in these forums for years now. I have been through the motions of strict calorie counting and excessive exercise leading to an eating disorder, officially diagnose in November of 2013... *side note: eating disorders are not just for the overly skinny, sickly and gaunt, I was none of those, just an evil b***h for a long time.

I like to think that I finally have my life "in order." I just moved out of the big city to a small town to live with my boyfriend and the man I will marry one day. I left my friends, family, and my job for him. I started a new job in the next town over at a brand new state of the art senior's assisted living home, which is going to make tracking a nightmare as all meals are provided during our 12hour shifts.

I'll admit, I am still plagued with binge/purge tendencies, but I'm much better than I was. What I'm asking for is support, not criticism. I know that I'm not perfect but I'm pretty freakin' amazing, and for the first time in my life, I'm happy... Genuinely happy!!!

Cheers.

Good on you for having the courage to write here, for having the courage to pack up and move to another place and basically "start over". You are very brave. Congratulations on getting your ED under control. I've never had an ED, so I won't presume to know what you went through. I will say though that you will have loads of support on this site. Great work, getting to a place in your life where you are happy. That' so awesome!!! Best of luck with your journey back to fitness and well being!!!!:)
  • Hi SarahKate.

First of all, congrats on the big life change!
If you have the courage to leave all that behind, I am sure you are able to acomplish anything you set you mind to.

Just keep calm and try to eat as healthy as you can. Focus on making that change, riding the moment in your life! :)
