Synching with Pacer

Has anyone else had problems syncing MFP with Pacer? Some days they sync fine and my Pacer steps are figured into my active time and calorie burn, while other days they don't communicate at all. I think that it's supposed to sync automatically, and I almost always have to do it manually and even then there's no guarantee that it'll work.
