Questions about Bodybeast (Beachbody)

I plan to start this programme in the next couple of weeks. I've recently lost 3 stone using T25 and P90x3 cause I wanted to lose the fat and then start gaining muscle.

First question is, will a Polar heart rate monitor FT4 (I think) be suitable for a programme like Bodybeast? Or weight training in general?

Another question is I don't want to be BIG, I want to aim for an athletic physique as opposed to a bodybuilders physique. So what would I need to adjust in the programme to achieve this?

I know when people do a muscle gaining programme it's called bulking and you put fat on too, but if I can swerve putting fat on i'd prefer it. Could I build muscle eating maintenance calories if them calories came from the right macronutrient ratio Bodybeast gives?

Hope this makes sense.

The main difference with bodybuilding programs isn't the workout, it's the large calorie surplus that goes with it. If you keep your surplus small, your won't get huge, and you'll minimize fat gain. If you eat at maintenance, you'll appear more muscular when the fat strips away, and many guys are fine with that look. If you want larger measurements though, you'll need a surplus.

Don't know about the Polar. You might try searching the forum.

Hi. Body Beast has a Lean program that sounds like what you are looking for. I am in week 6 and have a few friend on MFP also doing the program. One male friend who is at week 4. We might be able to answer questions about the program itself. Feel free to friend me and I will connect you to others I'd you like.
