What are your essentials in the kitchen?

I want to have a well stocked kitchen with as many of the staples as I need, so when I head to the store, all I need to grab are fruits and veggys.

What do you have in the kitchen that you consider a must have (seasoning, sauces, oils, vinegars, etc)

    Olive oil and balsamic vinegar (marinades, dressings, sauces, everything!)
    Cajun seasoning
    Garlic powder
    Soy milk (smoothies, lattes, OR warmed up as a sweet low cal drink-so good!)
    Greek yogurt (dips and dressings or with fruit)
    Hummus (mix with water until consistency of dressing, or just as dip)
    Oats
    Pasta
    Ezekiel bread
    Chicken
    Laughing cow cheese
    Brown rice


    If I have all those things, I can pretty much make meals forever! Haha hope this helped!

    Smoothie makings (spinach, kale, romaine hearts, water, almond milk, coconut water, coconut oil, ground flaxseed, mint, basil, parsly, cilantro, frozen fruit in grapes, bananas, pineapple, peaches, mango, blue berries, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, strawberries, almond butter, tofu).

    Chicken legs, fish (tilapia, salmon or flounder), and pork chops/loin. All thin-cut and lean, to be made in sets, so I have them for lunches and dinners on hand and easily warmed up, again. At least a dozen different kinds of vegetables that can be made quickly in steamer bags (most of which I only add the smallest amount of butter, salt, pepper, and garlic to). Fresh fruit and vegetables of whatever's seasonal at my local fruit & vegetables store.

    String cheese. Hominy, beans, chili, canned chicken and tuna for even more salad fixings. Home-made infused oils, sun dried tomatoes.

    Splurge things I have on hand rarely, but that are worth saving/giving points in my day to occasionally -- high percentage cocoa dusted almonds, high percentage pure dark chocolate, corn tortilla's and really good cheese (munster, blue, farmstead goat, fresh mozzarella balls, real parmesan), pure (non-concentrate, non-syrup of any kind, non-mixed) juices. Milk. Frozen dark chocolate dipped banana slices.

    10% cream (coffee)

    canned tomatoes
    canned beans (fava, lentil, black). Ultimate convenience food: I add these to soups, make salads of them. 1 can lasts me 3 days
    canned tuna

    rye bread
    pasta
    oatmeal
    go lean crunch cereal

    a few convenience-minded things:
    canned soups (minestrone usually)
    frozen 'lean' pizzas & chicken breasts & fish fillets. honestly the last two are 'breaded' with flax or something or other, it's a particular line from a grocery store that's fairly good on macros. It means that even on days I've got no time or don't feel like cooking, there's an option that's at least a little better than something I'd otherwise order in.

    bare-bones veg/fruit i'm never without:
    yellow & green onions, garlic
    celery, carrots
    fresh tomatoes (i splurge here, can't live without them)
    baby spinach
    bananas
    some kind of berry

    lol i'm just giving you my basic shopping list. then meats: a few beef steaks, pork loins. i have not been able to make chicken breasts taste anything other than disgusting without adding tons of fat to them or disfiguring cookware, so i sometimes buy a whole roast chicken (ready made) from a local shop, and make it last in sandwiches, pasta dishes, etc. that's actually cheaper than buying a raw chicken.
