Losing Weight While Injured

Hey everyone!

I've never posted on these forums before, but I was recently diagnosed with Spondylolysis which is essentially a fancy term for a stress fracture in one of my vertebrae. As a way to help along recovery, the doctor told me I should try and lose weight so as to put less stress on my back and prevent repeat injuries and problems.

My question is what's the best way to lose weight during this time? I've been doing better keeping track of my calories and because of the pain medication I'm on I can't drink, so I haven't had to worry about those calories. The doctor told me I'm allowed to talk, but I can't do weights or anything. Is there anything else I can do besides focusing on what I eat? I know I can't rush things, but in the two weeks since I got hurt I've eaten better than I used to and lost 6 pounds already.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Calories in - calories out, is going to be the best/only way to lose weight regardless of injurys.

When you are healed up add exercise for fitness and adjust calories accordingly.

Weight loss is mostly about the food. Walking and logging in your diary are perfect.
