Should I give up on couch to 5k?

.I just completed week two of couch to 5k. My routine as far as working out has been couch to 5k three times a week and the 20 minute turbo jam and/or turbo sculpt twice a week. I did well the first week of the program and was really looking forward to the second week. These last two runs/jogs have killed my knees:( They are popping and grinding and I'm worried about hurting them further.I know I should probably go get fitted for new shoes but I really can't afford that right now.Should I just stick with walking and other less intensive cardio? I really would hate to give up because I already see an improvement in my legs.is there anything "freeish" I can do to help my knees?

If it hurts, take it easy. If it doesn't hurt, push it.

Go to the doctor and get it checked out. I didnt and a year later I was having surgery. Not a replacement but they had to go in and clean it up. My daughter is also a gymnist and he knees grind and at 12 she needs to now go in and get them cleaned up. Only person who can answer this question is the doctor. It could be something simple where some therapy could get you on track too.

Take a rest until your knees recover fully. It might take weeks until they're fully healed and pain free, but you have to resist the temptation to use them again before they're ready. In the mean time you can do other cardio routines that are easy on the knees, like walking, swimming, biking, etc.

Listen to your body! You could try some lower impact exercise, I have issues with running and I LOVE to rollerblade- it gets your legs in amazing shape quickly, and it's just so fun to pretend you're a kid again :)
