For some, yes; for others, no.

For me they are a complete waste of $$$.

Also, why do you have to watch your HR? Do you have a medical need?
  • I recently bought a Polar FT4 and I'm loving it. I find it pushes me that bit harder when I'm exercising.

They're two completely different things. Fit bit is a pedometer, while Polar FT is a heart rate monitor. I have a Polar FT4 and I love it. It allows me to accurately track how many calories I'm burning during my cardio workouts and knowing my heart rate makes me work harder.

Whether or not either device is worth it completely depends on your own personal goals and desires.

I love my polar. I have the fitbit too and for me it was a waste. But I know people who love it :)
