Things to eat when you're sick

I've been eating much healthier lately and doing great all around - feeling better, finding healthy foods I actually love, losing a bit of weight.

Now I have a cold and all I want is a massive bowl of ice cream and an entire family sized bag of sour cream and onion lays.

What are some comfort foods you like for days that you don't want to eat healthy but don't want to completely destroy all the hard work? I need some no cook, no effort, lie in bed kinda meals to combat the urge to completely pig out on Dominos pizza

and btw - I'm already eating the traditional chicken noodle soup and drinking massive amounts of water and OJ for the cold.

I would still let myself have a bowl if I really wanted it. I just wouldn't get too overboard and eat the entire carton (unless it was a Ben and Jerry's pint. That's good food when you're sick). Generally when I have a cold, I stick to soup, fruit, and any calorie dense snacks I can if my intake is too low.

That is, unless it was a butt/mouth cold, then I would be eating absolutely anything calorie dense that I could keep down, haha.

When I'm sick, "junk food" is the last thing I want. Even if it is just a cold, I usually end up nauseous from all the mucous draining. I prefer hot tea, potato soup, ginger ale, and graham crackers.

When I'm sick I just would eat what I am in the mood for and can stomach and just log it honestly.

Try eating straight oranges instead of OJ and at least you can benefit from the added fiber instead of just straight calories.

My go to when I'm sick is a huge bowl of miso soup coupled with some steaming hot ginger tea!

Chinese soup is good too - I like the egg drop wonton when I am sick but my husband goes for the spicy house special soup. Also tons of tea with honey.
